CONDUCTOR

Simon Sadiković began their conducting journey at the age of sixteen when they conducted their own compositions in concert at the Columbus Academy in Gahanna, OH.

Upon their acceptance to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, they began studying conducting with prominent faculty members such as Carmen Moral, Julius Williams, Francisco Noya, and Nathaniel Efthimiou. They were appointed as the Assistant Conductor of the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra by Julius Williams, a position they held for three years. They also led multiple ensembles, including the Berklee Motion Picture Orchestra, an entirely student-run ensemble that performed at many Boston venues, such as Jordan Hall and Kresge Hall. Their work at the college garnered the faculty's attention, who awarded them the Tibor Pusztai Award in Conducting for two consecutive years.

At the Boston Conservatory, Sadiković led with precision and poise. Studying under Bruce Hangen, they led the Boston Conservatory Orchestra in works such as Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, and more. They collaborated with many student composers as well, premiering new works and operas such as Crush by morima and Blueberries for Sal by Naaman Wheeler.

Sadiković’s conducting career thus far has allowed them to work with orchestras in Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, Anchorage, and abroad in the United Kingdom. He has been a grateful student of prominent conductors such as John Farrer, Howard Williams, Neal Stuhlberg, Arthur Fagan, Toshiyuki Shimada, and Salvatore Di Vittorio. In 2024, Sadiković was named as a Finalist for the Respighi Prize in Conducting through the Chamber Orchestra of New York.
